I was thrilled to be chosen as Executive Director for the Boys and Girls Club of Leduc in August of 2013. Writing this bio feels a lot like creating a sad E-Harmony profile, but here goes......
Professionally, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Alberta and a Master's Degree from Athabasca University in Work, Organzation and Leadership. Prior to joining the Club, I worked for several Family and Community Support Services, as well as in Family Violence Prevention and Intervention. I love running a not-for-profit and even enjoy all the paperwork that accompanies the position!
Personally, I am married with two strong, smart daughters and one whiny, less-than-smart (but thoroughly loved) dog. We have lived in Leduc for many years, but I actually grew up on a farm outside of the Village of Thorsby. I love running (yes, for fun) and spending time with my rather large, extended family. I think Alberta is the most beautiful place on earth and love being outside in it.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the Club. You can reach me at email@example.com
I have a passion for working with children. Young or old, I just love the atmosphere they create. They bring joy to my life and make me a happier person each and everyday. I look forward to coming to work because of them.
I have been with the Boys and Girls Club of Leduc for 6 years now and it is home. Throughout those years, I have seen each and every child learn and grow in their own individual ways within our program. To me, that is always rewarding!
I grew up living in Leduc and did competitive dance here for 15 years which I enjoyed very much. I love animals,(unless they are chickens), and I also like to travel. I like to spend my time outdoors, with my friends and family but I spend most of my time at the race track when I'm not at The Boys and Girls Club doing what I love. I have been with the Boys and Girls Club of Leduc for the past three years. I love working with children and have done so in many different settings. I love to see the children grow throughout our programs and love seeing new faces join them. This is a passion of mine and it brings so much joy to my life. I love all of the kids and families here at BGC and I absolutely love my job!
As the mom of a very busy blended family of 6 kids ranging in age from 3 years to 14, I can wholly understand the needs and demands placed on not only the parents of the family but also the kids. I am so grateful to be part of an organization that puts the kids needs first. I come from a big family with a farming/agricultural background, but due to an injury sustained at work I was pressed into a career change. I couldn't be happier in my new position and I love getting to know the kids and families that make up our club and make it such a happy place to be!
One of the luckiest things that can happen to you in life is, I think, to have a happy childhood.
Childhood is a tricky business. Usually, something goes wrong.
To have your childhood dream realized is a really big deal.
Childhood is a short season.
